The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 4.2
Active Shield is an antivirus antispyware program that can help us keep our computer safe from dangerous threats. Active Shield offers us a protective shield against malware, adware, virus, spyware, etc. If we happen to have True Sword (an antivirus utility by the same developer) installed in our computer, we can manage that program from the Active Shield user interface. This graphical user interface is quite friendly and easy to manage. We can use the default configurations or customize them to our own taste and needs. We are allowed to switch security levels (low, medium, high, disable and custom). When customizing the security level, we can manually select which processes/items should be monitored (system folders, autorun list, registry, cookies, malicious files and folders, processes, and browser settings). It also lets us configure the action that we want the program to perform whenever a new threat is found (inform us and ask what to do, solve without notifying us or ignore always). In addition, it is possible to create a black list, a white list, restore changes, update database automatically at a given time, etc. We can evaluate this product free of charge. Active Shield runs under Windows Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000 operating systems. |
